Practicing Extreme Positivity

Thinking positive about the finance plan this year. ALL IS WELL! EVERYTHING WILL BE ALL RIGHT!! I AM PROSPEROUS!!

Normally about this time I start to fizzle and have to fight my discouragement. It seems like we have a lot of bills. Current bills increase, but salary remains about the same. And I have little support from the family--I'm the breadwinner, the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and the grocery shopper. However, as I get older, I find that everything usually turns out ok. I mean, I'm creative and I'm frugal, I can still find humor in most situations--heck, I AM SUPERWOMAN!!

Anyhoo...

Items I've checked off my to-do list:

1. Health insurance for my son. Done. $160 per month. He's aging out of my medical coverage, but he's not self-supporting and still requires medication for mental illness. Looking to extend my current coverage for him, but that requires a lot of paperwork that I haven't been able to coordinate with the doctor.

2. Income taxes. Done. Refund expected: $1200. Will split between savings and paying extra on mortgage.

3. First round of de-cluttering. Done. 8 boxes of 'maybe', 12 bags of donation, several bags of trash and recycle. Next round of de-cluttering will take place at a later time.

4. Paid escrow. Done. $535. Monthly mortgage payment still increased by $19, but that's better than the $50 monthly increase the bank projected.

Practicing extreeeeeeme positivity. I am grateful. I am healthy. I AM PROSPEROUS AND ABUNDANT, yes I am!

    What a wonderful attitude and disposition! Kudos for all you've done like escrow,medical insurance, income tax, de-clutter and all you plan to continue to do as each is a step forward towards your various goals.

    Q. Has the trash resulting from de-clutter project gone?
    Q. Has the box/bag[s] of donations got to the trunk of the car or pick-up date if that's available in your community?
    Q. 8 boxes of 'maybe'... Would you consider posting an ad on Facebook 'sell' page in your community for any of those items?
    Q. What barrier prevents a decision? Do you use it? Do you need it? Does it make you happy?

    Can we help in any way to get you and DS through the medical co ordination process to extend medical coverage for DS?

    I hope it's ok to gently nudge you to consider using an on-line Will form and Advance Care Directive outline to take a small step towards paperwork that is also truly important.

    Answers:
    *Trash is gone!
    *Donations were dropped off at Good Will.
    *8 boxes of 'maybe' are still waiting for decisions, but they are nicely stacked in the spare room. The barrier is that I'm frugal and think that I may find a reuse or value for some of the items and it helped to have that middle road of 'maybe' to get through the project. The boxes are still in the house but the house looks and feels better.
    *Mailed a letter to the doctor's office and will follow up at the appointment we have next month with my copy.
    *I'm totally blocked when it comes to setting up a will, but will try to start again. Ordered a will kit online 6 years ago... I don't know what's wrong with me, but this is obviously procrastination at its worst.
    *The plan is to split the tax refund $700 savings and $500 to mortgage. Woo hoo!
